Wednesday, November 30th

NEWS: The Giving Tree is here! This morning the students in our class each chose an ornament from out parrish giving tree.  We talked about what it meant to take an ornament and what the students are now required to do with that ornament. Here are a couple guidelines:
  • Allow any student who wants to take a tag, but if they know their family is not able to purchase a gift, they do not need to take one. With that being said, if your child brought home an ornament and you fit in this category please return it to Mrs. Wall or the tree as soon as possible.
  • All gifts must come to school UNWRAPPED.
  • All UNWRAPPED gifts should have the ornament FROM THE GIVING TREE attached.
  • You may purchase any clothing or toy item that would be appropriate for a child of the age specified on the ornament you chose.
  • Bring all gifts to our classroom.
  • The last day to bring gifts is WEDNESDAY DEC. 14th.

NEWS: Welcome back to school and the start of our 2nd trimester in 2nd grade! Thank you to everyone who returned their signed report card envelope.  I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing break.

Today was the first day of our 2nd trimester.  In second grade that means bigger responsibilities and higher expectations.  As a second grade student you are expected to read, listen to and take one quiz every night at www.raz-kids.com.  You are also expected to visit www.mathletics.com every night and play Live Mathletics or complete one of the lessons we have been working on in class.

We are beginning our Reconciliation preparation in class.  Per the schedule that was sent home with your Sacraments packet, the first At Home Family activity will be sent home next week Friday.  As a family you need to complete these activities over the weekend and return them completed on Mondays if you are planning on receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Per your parent requests, Mrs. Wall will be sending home class work and homework more often.  Each Wednesday, you will be taking home some work that you have completed.  You need to show this work to Mom and Dad and tell them what it was and what you needed to do.  What did you think about it? Did you like it? Was is challenging? Talk about each piece of work that is sent home so you (and Mom and Dad) better understand what you are learning in class.

HOMEWORK:
