NEWS: Today was an exciting day in second grade. Our school practiced a Code Red drill. We did a good job of working together in our classroom and following directions about what to do. Marcus and Dante were especially brave together during this time! Way to go everyone!
Due to this practice drill we were not able to celebrate our April ABC Superstars. We will postpone this until tomorrow afternoon. Thank you for your patience boys and girls. We are going to have fun tomorrow!
It was so wonderful to hear about all of the fun things you did with your families last week during Screen Awareness Week. This week, even though we don't HAVE to stay away from screens and alpacas, try to do more fun activities like you did last week with your friends and family. Go play outside with your friends and family rather than watching TV together sometime this week.
Thank you to all of the families who participated in the Family Eucharist Retreat this past weekend. It was so fun to see you all together! I hope this preparation has brought your family closer to God.
HOMEWORK:
1. Turn those screens ON and do your www.raz-kids.com reading and www.mathletics.com tonight!
2. HRL
3. First Eucharist preparation-If you received a reminder today in class please work with your family tonight to finish your work up through chapter 5. Many of us are celebrating First Eucharist this coming weekend. Our last chapter of work (chapter 6) will be coming home on Wednesday and will be due Friday for those completing their First Eucharist this weekend and Monday for those that are not celebrating until May 12th.

Volunteer Needed for Science
Good Evening Moms and Dads,
Hopefully all of you had a chance to check out the Science Fair this past week. They ALL did a wonderful job in their projects and creation of their boards! Our students have been working hard in Science throughout this year and although the Science Fair is over, we still have more to learn! As you know, Science at St. Lawrence is a "hands-on" experience for our students every Tuesday morning with Mrs. Varnau. In hopes to continue our exploratory time in second grade, we are in need of one or two parent volunteers that would be available from 10:00-11:00 on Tuesday mornings. Even if you are only available a couple times from now until the end of the school year, your help would be greatly appreciated. Please let myself or Mrs. V know if you need volunteer hours and are willing to help as soon as possible. We could use help starting this Tuesday morning.
Thank you,
Mrs. Wall and Mrs. Varnau
