Sacramental Preparation

Dear Second Grade Families,

This past week we began our Sacrament preparation in class.  As discussed in the meeting you all attended, the yellow packet that was sent home and the same information that was posted on School One, your family is responsible for completing the At Home Family Focus activities each weekend.  Your child’s folder with book and reflection packet must be returned each Monday morning to school.  In class each week we will be learning about the chapters that were listed on your original paperwork.  At the end of each chapter is where you will find the At Home work you need to do together.  (This week: page 13) Please do not work ahead in the book.  Once you have discussed and completed the chapter’s content your family should write your thoughts on the final pages of the packet that is in your child’s folder.  Mom, Dad, and/or your second grade student should write a reflection at the end of this packet.

Thank you for your support with this wonderful Catholic Sacrament and helping to continue your child’s education in their faith.  Should you have any questions, please email me.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Wall

P.S. When you have completed the list of information needed by the church to complete the second grade Sacraments, please turn it in to the church’s parish office to Eleanor’s inbox.

NEWS: Happy Friday! We had a G-R-E-A-T day today in second grade!

On Monday we will start sending home the Gabbit for you and your family to use.  I will email Mom and Dad with a list of when they will have the Gabbit so they know when it is coming home.  That way they will be ready in the car, with the radio off and all attention on you, when they pick you up from school, and ready to talk! =) Have fun!

If you worked on the computer today to type your pet story I will email Mom or Dad with your work so far.  Please complete and print out your story if you worked on the computer yesterday or today.  If you did not get a chance yet you will this coming week (don't worry about typing it at home, you can do it next week).

Our class is in charge of the Advent prayer on Monday.  Please stay for Morning Announcements if you can to hear our great speaker read the prayer for the second week of Advent.

Parents, we have begun preparation in class for First Reconciliation.  Next weekend (Friday) your child will be bringing home their Sacraments folder to complete the Family Activity.  Please make time over the weekend for this important part of your child's Catholic learning.  They will need to return the folder with the completed activities each Monday.
