Thursday, October 20th

NEWS: We participated in "The Great Shakeout" this morning along with thousands of students all around California.  Our students did great to keep themselves safe in an earthquake and followed our procedures perfectly! Hopefully we never have to actually use these skills but if so, second grade is well prepared! =)

No school tomorrow but the Children's Center will be open if you need it.

Our last "Winter Warmth" presentation is coming up.  On Monday, we will present for the last time.  If you haven't already brought in your donations, please do on Monday morning to help us with the skit.
John, Patrick, Leo and Imani will be our speakers this time. (Parents, an email is on the way for you to practice speaking.)

Next week is "Spirit Time" so come prepared...

Tuesday~Pajama and Twin Day-Please come dressed for the day.
Wednesday~Accessories Day-Please bring your accessories in your backpack and put them on AFTER mass is over.

Thursday~Color Day~Please wear anything and everything that you have that is WHITE! Head to toe if possible!!! We will also have a students vs. teachers game in the afternoon for your entertainment.

Friday~Sports and Crazy Hair Day-Please come dressed for the day and remember to wear something that you can wear for the Walk-a-thon!!! We will only be changing our shirts before we walk.  Please return your fundraising forms with all of your pledges before next Friday! If there are any parents who would like to volunteer to walk with the students we would LOVE to have you.  The Walk-a-thon is from 12:30-2:30 on Friday afternoon. (Just make sure to check in at the office first.) Jamba Juice will be here also. $4 for a drink.

Senior Carnival-All you need to send is $5 for an "All Access Pass" to play all of the games, etc.

**Each day, please think about how you will learn in what you wear.  Can I be a good student with the PJ's, accessories, or Halloween costume that I choose to wear to school? The answer should be, YES!!! For more specific guidelines about costumes, I beleive you can check out School One.

All Saint's Day is coming soon as well.  Our class is sponsoring the Tuesday Mass (11/1) during school.  Please try to come and support us if you can.  The following students will be reading during mass: Dante (greeter), Keala (greeter), Thomas (greeter), Michael (2nd reading), Joey (St. Christopher), Lorin (St. Frances Cabrini), Leo (St. Leo), and Joan (St. Mary).  You will receive your readings on Monday at school to start practicing.

ITBS results will be given out at Mr. Dolan's informational meeting on 10/27 from 6:00-8:00pm.  There will be FREE childcare available if needed.  Please come if you can to learn about how to read your child's results.
