Friday, February 17th

NEWS:  Happy Friday everyone! Thank you for a great day boys and girls!  I hope you have a wonderful week away from school.  PLEASE spend lots of time with your families-showing them God's love and helping out around the house. =) HAVE FUN!!!!

We are going to see Junie B. Jones at the Flint Center on Monday when we return.  Please wear either your red sweatshirt or red jacket to school that day because you NEED it when we leave the school campus! Thank you!! I can't wait for Junie B.!!!

HOMEWORK
1. Keep reading at http://www.raz-kids.com/ and working at http://www.mathletics.com/!
2. Check out all of the work you brought home in your yellow folder (this week if you have time and for the weeks to come after that) and complete the PROGRESS REPORT by having Mom and Dad write in the boxes on the bottom right hand corner about how we are going to work together to help YOU do better with your LIFE LONG LEARNING SKILLS.
**Return this completed Progress Report on Monday, February 27th!
Mrs. Wall will review this and then make a copy for you to keep at home so you are ready to do your work at home and remind you about what you are also doing in class.

Mom and Dad, There is a letter attached to this YELLOW folder that will give you more info.  I have also copied it below.  Please fill in all three sections with your child and send it back to school.  If you are at a loss as far as what to write in Mrs. Wall's box, I may be able to help with some ideas based on the other thigns you will already have written.

THIS IS A COPY OF THE LETTER YOU HAVE STAPLED TO YOUR YELLOW FOLDER!!

Mom and Dad,
Inside this packet are many things I have been working on this trimester. I want to show you all of these things and tell you about what we did in class- my favorite parts and some of the things I am still learning. If you have questions about my Progress Report you should be able to see what I need more help on in this packet of my work. During these days off we need to look at my Progress Report and think of some SPECIFIC things I can do to help me, you both can do to help me, and what Mrs. Wall can do to help me be a better student at St. Lawrence. (This is the same thing we did with Mrs. Wall during our 3-way conference in October.) Mom and Dad, you should write on this paper so we can easily read what our plan of action is to help me. I can keep all of this class work and homework at home but I need to bring back the completed progress report on Monday, February 27th. Thank you Mom and Dad!
Love,

P.S.What does this progress report tell us?
These are all of the grade level standards we have been working on this trimester.
If there is a STAR, I already know what I need to know to meet this standard.
If there is NOTHING, I am still working on this standard.
If it is YELLOW, this is what I REALLY need help with at home to do better work in class.
The LIFE LONG LEARNING SKILLS are what the plan of action should be focused on, NOT the content standards. I practice my Life Long Learning Skills EVERYDAY and I need your help to be a Super Star with these things all the time.
